Life Groups

A place where we have Christian friends that help each other in difficult times and rejoice together during times of celebration. A place where we can grow closer to Christ and deepen our faith. A place where we can help others in the community and in the world.

Trinity Family and friends have found Life Groups to be the most effective way to experience all of these things.  All Sunday Morning Life Groups welcome anyone to join them, at any time!

For Everyone

Young Pros

Led by a class team, this couples class and explore topics that will help enrich their marriages and grow in their faith.  Group purpose:  “To strengthen our marriages through fellowship, study, discussion, missions and prayer.  By making Christ the Foundation of our relationships, we can make a difference not only in our marriages, but in the lives of others.”  Room 120, Sunday at 8:45 a.m.

Led by a teaching team, enjoy dynamic and exciting discussions each week with folks in their 30's and above as a variety of topics are explored during the year.  Group purpose:  “Equip singles to live a Christian life through prayer, study, fun and support.  Participating in missions is an important part of our class, and we produce the Pancake Breakfast each year; as well as provide concessions at the Fall Carnival.” Room 121, Sunday at 8:45 a.m.

Led by a class team.  What are we talking about here? Young Professionals.  Authentic, current conversation focused on faith formation.  Group purpose:  For the Love of God.  (6:30 p.m., Tuesday nights at Amendment 21 - downtown, above Sam & Gregs)

Trinity’s New Young Adult class is growing by leaps and bounds! Rev. Abi Carlisle-Wilke is leading us. Join us as we enjoy studying the Bible and seeing how it addresses our needs as young adults.  Epworth Wing, Room 126, Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

 

College Class

A new group for college-age young adults, join us for relevant and interesting topics led by Jane Daniels and Henry Everitt.  For more information on college-age ministries, join the Trinity College Ministry Facebook group. (Summer Only, Room 232)

Middle Adults

Exploring a variety of topics throughout the year, this discussion class led by Larry Lowe welcomes couples and singles.  Studies include a variety of curriculum from video series to special Bible studies and societal issues.  Group purpose:  “Bring Christ to the world by praying, seeking, reaching and laughing loudly!  We grow leaders to service inside and outside the church – and we enjoy our class socials.”

This class for singles and couples is led by Lee Horton and will choose study topics as a group, and explore those through presentation and discussion.  Group purpose:  “To grow in relationship with God and one another as we travel through life’s journey.”

Teacher Tom Abel presents Bible study that alternates between the Old and New Testaments, and occasional special topics during the year, for couples and singles.  Group purpose:  “To create a caring community for Christian growth through Bible study, fellowship and service.  We have a caring, intellectual, enjoyable and thought provoking environment where we can laugh and cry about life’s adventures.”

Led by a teaching team which presents Biblically-based topics for study and facilitates group discussion, couples and singles are welcome.  Group purpose:  “To serve others by doing mission work as we fill our lives with spiritual enrichment and encourage others to share God’s love in an atmosphere of support and fellowship during joyous times and difficult times.”

Single Adults

With topic presentation and discussion, this class of folks in their 50s and above is lead by a teaching team.  (Meets after worship at 11:00am, no childcare available.)  Group purpose:  “Enjoy learning through a variety of Biblically based topics in an informal setting.  We are supportive of each other, are active in missions outside the church, and enjoy fun and fellowship in class and at our socials.”

Meeting with A Society of Friends class and led by a teaching team, enjoy dynamic and exciting discussions each week with folks in their 30s and above as a variety of topics are explored during the year.  Group purpose:  “Equip singles to live a Christian life through prayer, study, fun and support.  Participating in missions is an important part of our class, and we produce the Pancake Breakfast each year; as well as provide concessions at the Fall Carnival.”

Active singles that are 55+ participate in stimulating discussions each week, and have monthly class mission and social activities.  Led by teacher Carol Fields, Biblically-based topics are studied.  Group purpose:  “We encourage Christian fellowship in daily living.”

Empty Nesters

Couples and singles enjoy class studies about how the Bible relates to their lives, and is led by a teaching team.  Group purpose:  “To grow in our faith as we learn more about the Bible and provide a support system for our class.  We also support the missions of the church, and take our Christian life journey seriously – but don’t take ourselves seriously.  And we always have Krispy Kreme doughnuts!”

This class challenges conventional thinking with Biblical truths by covering current events, social events and Bible study through discussion.  While backgrounds are diverse, their love for Christ pulls them together.  To grow in their commitment to serve the Lord, they participate in projects inside and outside the church throughout the year.  Group purpose:  “Our class motto is ‘Caring, Sharing, Reaching and Teaching.’  Our doors are open to anyone who wants to study, serve and enjoy fellowship.”

Mixed Ages & Stages

Beginning September 12, Rev. Larry Stephens leads a biblically based class using topics of interest to the class. Larry combines humor, his faith, and knowledge to make learning and growing in your faith fun. This class is for mixed ages of singles and couples.

Single and married women use the Upper Room Disciplines devotion book and the accompanying “Journeying Through the Days” as they discuss weekly themes from the books.  Group purpose:  “To grow together as women in Christian fellowship and unconditional love.  We support each other as we share our cares and our joys.  We enjoy the many church ministries we support and our involvement in the community brings us many opportunities to use our gifts.”

Teacher Lowell Zoller presents studies and leads interesting and informative discussions each week, often with supporting computer visuals.  Group purpose: “To study the Bible and how it relates to our lives.  We are very involved with missions and supporting the various needs of our church.”

For men and women, explore the Bible from Genesis to Revelations with Sam Sullins as he leads a group discussion.  Group purpose:  “To enjoy studying the scriptures, praying and building a community of faith.  We have monthly mission activities inside and outside of the church.”

Ever been afraid to join a class or Bible study because you don’t think you know enough about the Bible?  Then this is a class for you!  We’ll explore how the Bible came to be, how it’s organized, major themes of the Bible and much more!  Led by Jennifer and Russell Penfield, come and bring your questions about the Bible and we’ll journey together.

Meaningful discussion of each week’s sermon is lead by a teaching team.  Special topics and book studies are also offered during the year.  Group purpose:  “We enjoy our diverse and lively discussions.  You will see us helping to host many church events as we help support the activities of the ‘Bubba Q Brothers!’

Mary Scott Hunter and Rev. Matt Reed will facilitate a class of couples and singles, in discussions on life issues using the Bible as the basis.  Group purpose:  “To have fun and grow in our discipleship as we get to know each other through study, prayer and service to others.  Grab a cup of coffee or cappuccino and join us!”

Senior Adults

Led by a teaching team, formats vary from lecture with discussion to lively discussions.  Adult Bible Studies are used and singles and couples are welcome.  Group purpose:  “A caring, supportive group in times of celebration, sickness or other needs.  We support missions outside the church and also work through the many church ministries that are important to us.  We are like family and would love to have new family members!  And come early for fellowship!”

Lecture format with group questions and accompanying discussion taught by Jack Matthews, this class provides topic outlines to help facilitate the study process.  Group purpose: “To provide opportunities for each of us to supplement our personal Bible studies with a structured and participatory class setting.  We emphasize study of the scriptures and their relevance to contemporary issues and life’s problems.”

Both singles and couples enjoy topic presentation with discussion led by Al Robinson and Rosalie Holt.  Group purpose:  “Support the ministries and missions of our church and to provide spiritual, emotional and social support to our class members.  Though we are one of Trinity’s newer classes, we already feel the freedom to discuss how the Bible relates to social issues.”

This class style is lecture with lively discussions, with Adult Bible Studies taught by a teaching team.  Couples and singles are welcome.  Group purpose:  “Grow in our relationship to God and others through study, prayer, caring support of our class members and our church and community.  If you come to our class, you will find friendship, love, companionship and spiritual hugs!”

The Adult Bible Series is presented with lecture and discussion, and group singing and devotions are also a part of the session.  Couples and singles are welcome.  Group purpose:  “To continue to quest for a deeper faith, nourish our members spiritually, support the church and participate in community missions with donations and hands-on work.  We are a friendly and caring class that welcomes new people to join us!”
