SHINING THE LIGHT OF CHRIST IN A DIVIDED WORLD

At the beginning of a new year, we return to one of Jesus’ most compelling images: “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). In a world that often feels divided and dim, this reminder from Jesus calls us to shine not with our own brightness, but with the light of Christ that dwells within us. That’s the heart of our new sermon series: “Shining the Light in a Divided World.”

How to Engage?  This series is meant to be both inspiring and practical to help us move from simply hearing the Word to living it out:

• Small Groups: We’ll offer Share the Dream™ small groups throughout the series, using Scripture and short video sessions to explore how these Biblical principles can shape our daily lives. You may also use the study guide for personal study and reflection. Find a small group HERE.
• Weekly Readings: Each week, the preacher will select one of Dr. King’s sermons or speeches that connects to the Scripture passage for the week. These readings will be linked in our weekly blog.

BE THE LIGHT IN OUR COMMUNITY: Shine the Light of Christ in a Divided World . January 4 - February 15

Each week you commit to an Intentional Act of Kindness. Write it down and place it in our Lantern of Hope. Week by week, our lantern will shine brighter, filled with the light of our shared kindness. If you’re worshiping via livestream or unable to attend in person, submit your promise HERE. We’ll write it on a flame and place it in the lantern on your behalf. Romans 12:11-13 “Don’t hesitate to be enthusiastic—be on fire in the Spirit as you serve the Lord! Be happy in your hope, stand your ground when you’re in trouble, and devote yourselves to prayer. Contribute to the needs of God’s people, and welcome strangers into your home.”

FELLOWSHIP MEALS: 5 pm

Skip cooking or finding a table at a restaurant on Sunday nights, and let Trinity handle the cooking for you! An extra opportunity to see friends, eat with family & enjoy Christian fellowship before we head to discipleship opportunities for all age groups. ADULT SMALL GROUPS: 5:30 pm

Life is better in a small group - join one at Trinity! Discover a community that cares for you, listens to you, challenges your thinking, and helps you grow in faith. TODDLER BIBLE STORYTIME: 5:30 - 7 pm

All infants thru 3-4 year olds (not in preschool) join us! Each week we'll have an interactive Bible story, music, craft, and play time for our youngest children. TRINITY EXPLORERS IN FAITH CHILDREN MINISTRY: 5:30 - 7 pm

CONVERGE YOUTH MINISTRY: 5 - 7 pm

Sunday nights are special for Trinity youth to gather and grow through learning about the Bible and how it relates to their lives today through small groups, worship, a lesson, and games! MISSION FOCUS

SUPER BOWL SOUP DRIVE FOR HUNTSVILLE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM . January - February 8

Leading up to the Super Bowl on February 8, let’s help HAP stock their pantries with soup for the winter months. All soup or pasta donated during this window will go to HAP to support this effort. This is a SOUPer way to help out one of our local food pantries! Donations can be placed in any bin around the church anytime during the month.

JENNIFER DANIELS FAMILY SHOW: Free Concert & Book Signing . January 24, 11 am in The New Room

All are invited to an all-ages interactive family performance designed especially for children and their caregivers. Expect music, stories, laughter, and plenty of opportunities for kids to participate. After the show, Jennifer will host a book signing featuring her children’s and young adult titles. Donations encouraged and will benefit Second Mile Development.

TRINITY SOUPER SERVE DAY . February 8

February 8 is not just the Super Bowl, but it’s Trinity’s Super Serve Day! We’ll worship together at 10 am in the New Room, share a soup lunch by the Boy Scouts in Wesley Hall, and serve side-by-side packing 60,000 meals with Rise Against Hunger. Lunch is free, but donations to support Troop 364 are appreciated. This fun, high-energy day is for all ages and will wrap up well before kickoff. Invite a friend, and come ready to serve with joy as Trinity shines—one bowl, one meal, one act of love at a time. Let us know you’re coming! Registration is a two-step process. Start HERE!
