4.14.24 Reach, Love, Enrich, and Serve Huntsville: "Love Huntsville"
Luke 19:1-10, Matthew 22:34-40 (CEB)
Dear Trinity Family & Friends:
This coming Sunday, I am eager to share with you a message entitled “Love Huntsville,” inspired by Luke 19:1-10 (CEB). We will also focus on Matthew 22:34-40 (CEB), which centers our hearts and minds on the central theme that resonates deeply within the teachings of Christ: the transformative power of love.
In the story of Zacchaeus, we see Jesus model the essence of divine love—seeking out, engaging, and transforming lives through genuine relationships. Similarly, in Matthew, we are reminded of the greatest commandments. I truly believe that loving others is not a passive act, but it requires us to actively build relationships, stepping beyond our comfort zones to embrace those whom God is calling us to reach with love and grace.
As we prepare our hearts for this message, I invite you to reflect on the following questions:
- How can stepping out of our “bubbles” and engaging with others challenge and enrich our understanding of love?
- In what ways can we actively seek to build relationships with those outside our immediate circle, following the example of Jesus with Zacchaeus?
- What are some practical steps we can take to initiate connections that might seem uncomfortable at first but have the potential to reveal the depth of God’s love?
- How does the commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves inspire us to view relationship-building as a form of worship?
“Love Huntsville” is not just a sermon title—it’s a call to action, a challenge to live out the gospel in our everyday interactions. By embracing this message, we commit to being agents of change in our community, reflecting the heart of God through our willingness to connect, serve, and love.
Blessings,
Pastor Dedric
