EXTERIOR DOORS UPDATE
We are pleased to announce that new exterior metal doors have been installed in both transepts, under the Sanctuary, and in the Aldersgate and Asbury wings. We are grateful for the enhanced safety these new doors bring to our space.
The next steps in this project include the addition of kick plates, which have been ordered and are on their way. The final phase will be the installation of the stained glass window inserts, which will be completed by Emmanuel Studio of Nashville, TN.
LANDSCAPING UPDATE
The Landscaping phase of the Restoration Project officially began in September, and since then, remarkable progress has been made! Under the leadership of Site Supervisor Larry Noland and his dedicated team at Southern Scape, our campus has undergone significant transformation through careful digging, planting, and revitalization!
One of the most notable areas of improvement is the back east corner near the New Room. The crew spent days clearing dense undergrowth and removing trees, creating a striking change to the space. With the new landscaping now in place, this area looks completely transformed and rejuvenated. Please note that while the new plants may appear small now, they were chosen to allow for healthy growth and to prevent overgrowth in the future.
Larry and the team have shown exceptional commitment and attention to detail throughout this project, making thoughtful suggestions that have led to cost savings, practical enhancements, and added vibrancy to the overall design. We are truly grateful for the crew’s dedication and the genuine care they have shown in their work for Trinity. On October 22, in recognition of their exceptional efforts, the Trustees provided lunch for the Southern Scape staff to express our gratitude for their hard work and dedication.
Additional upgrades include:
We appreciate everyone’s patience with the disruption caused by dirt piles and equipment around the campus as this work continues. The project is expected to be completed by Thanksgiving, just in time to welcome the community to our beautifully renewed campus for Advent and Christmas celebrations! Furthermore, we are pleased to share that we anticipate the entire landscaping project will be completed under budget.
WELCOME ENTRANCE UPDATE
The Trustees have been working closely with Stephen Ward & Associates to adjust the designs for our new Welcome Entrance, ensuring a balance between exterior renovations and much-needed interior improvements.
During the transition from the initial concept design to formal architectural blueprints, the Trustees realized adding an awning would require blocking windows and reducing the visual impact of the beautiful limestone features of the existing structure. We are excited to share that the revised design preserves the architectural elegance of the structure while introducing a distinctive and welcoming entrance. Additionally, the design includes thoughtful new features such as sidewalks that improve accessibility and provide seamless handicap access to the east front parking lot.
As a reminder, the new entrance will feature doors facing Airport Road, leading directly into the Main Office on the east side of our campus. This will significantly improve both the functionality and visibility of our Main Entrance, making it easier for visitors and members to find their way.
Once the final blueprints are complete, the Trustees will move forward with requesting bids from various contractors to begin the construction phase. We are eager to see this vision come to life and appreciate your support as we take these steps to create a more welcoming and functional space for all.
As always, thank you for your generous support for the caretaking and restoration of our magnificent facility and campus. It is truly a gift given to us by God and a resource worth preserving for the continuation of our kingdom-building ministry.
