During the Summer it is very easy for us to get caught up in family vacations, weekend trips and everything fun. However, Summer isn’t fun for everyone. It is also a time when children are at home without the benefit of free breakfast and lunches that are provided at school. Also, these children and their families might not be able to go on vacations. One way we can provide them a vacation experience is to provide them the food to make a meal that they would eat while on vacation. Let us be mindful of all the blessings that God has bestowed upon us as well as all the opportunities he provides for us to be his disciples and to do good deeds in His name. When you are at the grocery store think of a meal that you would eat while on vacation and provide the non-perishable items needed to prepare that meal. It is within our power to fill all six bins full of food so that we can get proper nourishment to these children and their families. This month’s collection is on Sunday, July 3rd therefore if you are going to be out of town, remember that bins are in place throughout the entire month at the Wesley Hall entrance, the Narthex and the New Room lobby for you to drop off your donation anytime during the week.
