Read Luke’s account of the Easter event [Luke 24:1-12] and notice something you haven’t before.
Is Easter a kind of faith-vs.-science challenge for you? You trust that something happened but don’t know how you can explain it to friends who doubt it? Or is it not a challenge at all? You’ve always gone along with it since you were a kid? Do you hope Easter is true because you like the idea of death not being final?
Or are you just going through the motions of worship this Easter because that’s easier than challenging everything? Do you wish you could be somewhere else? Do a lot of people around you seem… gullible to believe this?
Have you ever shared anything of faith that was considered “nonsense” to others?
The other scripture for Sunday [1st Corinthians 15:19-26] is a very early understanding of what the resurrection means for us. (The letters in the New Testament were written before the Gospel writings.) What does it say about the resurrection event that such words were composed within a few years after they happened?
I look forward to worshipping with you Sunday at 7:00 for the ‘Sonrise’ service in the lobby of the New Room (south end of the building), at 9:00 am in the Sanctuary, and in the New Room with Cross Connect at 11:00.
