During Holy Week we are reminded of just how much Jesus loves us, of how much He sacrificed for us. The solemn Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services set the mood for the joyful celebration of Easter Sunday. We move from the goodbyes and suffering that He did for us to the miraculous resurrection that changed the world. He spent His life showing and teaching us how to love and how to treat each other.
Each month we are given an opportunity to love and treat each other the way Jesus taught us in Matthew 25:35. It appears that we will always have people who, on occasion, need help feeding their families. Let’s continue to show the love of Christ by filling the Food for Thought (FFT) bins to assist those who need a helping hand. “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…
If you have never participated in FFT before, this is a perfect time to give it a try. It’s the start of new beginnings. It can be a fun mission in which children can participate and learn the joy of helping others and letting their little lights shine, too. With your guidance, they can help select the food and place it in the cart. Then they can place the item in the FFT bag at home until it’s time to take the bag to church the first Sunday of each month.
