FOOD FOR THOUGHT “For I was hungry, and you gave me food” Matt. 25:35

Last year at this time, I wrote about how my mother began a tradition when I was a child that involved our immediate family preparing a full blown Thanksgiving meal as well as gathering groceries that would last a family of four for approximately a month. We would then deliver it to a family that wasn’t as fortunate. This was her way of teaching us to share the blessings that the Lord had bestowed upon us. We started this tradition at Thanksgiving; however, it is one that we carried over to Christmas as well. This is a tradition that we continued with our daughter and as our grandchildren are growing up it is one that we are continuing with them. It is so fun to take them to the grocery store and let them pick out items that they think the family needs as well as a few luxury items that they feel the family would enjoy. I tell this to you to give you a suggestion of starting this tradition with your family. As a starting point, if you can’t provide a full blown meal provide a few necessary ingredients so that a family that isn’t as fortunate can prepare a meal that is fit for a king. The Lord blesses us and this is a wonderful way for us to bless others.
