Our 2025 Stewardship theme scripture, “What can I give back to the Lord for all the good things he has done for me?” from Psalm 116:12, is a compelling question to consider. As Christians, we are so blessed and called to answer the questions of how and why we are giving back to the Lord. Christian stewardship represents the giving of time, talents, and gifts. Everyone needs to prayerfully decide what they want to give back in response to God’s blessings for themselves and others through Trinity.

From a UMC article, “What Does it Mean to be a Christian Steward?”:

“Giving money for the work of the church is one very important aspect of stewardship, but it is not the whole of stewardship. When stewardship is reduced to financial giving, the richness of a biblical symbol is dismissed. When financial giving is magnified to the whole of stewardship, the richness of a whole life committed to Jesus Christ is missing.

Christian giving is a responsive act. It represents gratitude to God. It is a symbol of self-giving. Therefore, giving is not a once-for-all event, but a regular part of life. It is a spiritual discipline that reminds us who we are and whose we are.

Historic Christian theology has affirmed God as the ultimate owner. "The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it" (Psalm 24:1, NRSV). It is more than a cliché to affirm that "we can't take it with us." God calls us into responsible partnership. We are given great responsibility. We are to "till the earth." It is a privilege to make important decisions as we work "in the vineyard."”

For 2025, we are emphasizing the importance of stewardship once a month by lay members using live, video, and written messages. Each of these speakers will provide their perspectives on how and why they are giving back to the Lord through Trinity. In the Fall, we will conduct a Stewardship Emphasis where members will have the opportunity to provide pledge cards for the following year.

We are deeply thankful for your continued generosity and commitment to Trinity! Every gift, no matter the size, contributes to our vision of “A Christian community inviting all to gather in love, grow in faith, and give back in joyful service.”

Trinity is doing so much to grow the Kingdom of God through our worship services, ministries, and missions. What can you give back to the Lord for all the good things he has done for you?
