Trinity Family & Friends!
This Sunday in worship, we conclude our “What We Value” series with a sermon entitled “We Value Excellence.” Excellence isn’t just about being the best or achieving high standards in a worldly sense. In our spiritual walk, excellence reflects our commitment to offer our very best to God, in all that we do. At Trinity, we don’t merely recognize this; we embrace it as one of our core values, making it central to our worship, fellowship, and service.
The foundation for this week’s sermon comes from Colossians 3:1-4, 12-17 (CEB) and Psalm 8 (CEB). In Colossians 3, Paul writes to the church, urging believers to set their hearts and minds on things above. He provides a list of virtues that we should clothe ourselves with, leading to whatever we do, in word or deed, being done in the name of the Lord Jesus. Excellence here isn’t about perfection but about intention, purpose, and gratitude.
Psalm 8 continues in this vein with a reflection on the majesty of God and the dignity of humanity. This psalm reminds us that our call to excellence is a response to the marvelous works and trust God has placed in us.
Join us this Sunday, as we strive for excellence, not as a badge of honor for ourselves but as a testimony to the God who created us and loves us.
Blessings,
Pastor Dedric
