Dear Trinity Family & Friends:
As we approach the conclusion of our sermon series, “By The Light,” I am thrilled to preach our final sermon, “Illuminated By the Light,” based on Luke 11:33-36 (CEB). This series has taken us on a journey, exploring how God’s light profoundly impacts and shapes our lives. Our final sermon will draw us deeper into understanding how we can live as reflections of this light in our daily lives.
In Luke 11, Jesus speaks about the importance of having a healthy eye that allows light to fill our bodies. He says, “Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness.” This passage challenges us to consider the sources of light in our lives and how they affect our spiritual well-being.
We will also read Revelation 21:22-25 (CEB), where John describes the New Jerusalem, a city illuminated not by the sun or moon, but by the glory of God and the Lamb. This divine light signifies the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promise to dwell among his people, providing them with eternal light and life. As we reflect on these scriptures, we are invited to think about the eternal and present significance of living in God’s light.
As we prepare for worship this week, think on these questions:
May we approach this final sermon with hearts open to the transformative power of God’s light, allowing it to shine through us and guide our steps as we walk together on this journey of faith.
Blessings,
Pastor Dedric
