5.4.25 (Combined Service): Trinity Together: Worship, Serve, Gather
Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 4:1-6, 11-13
Dear Trinity Family & Friends,
This Sunday, we celebrate what it means to be Trinity Together—a community shaped by worship, service, and fellowship. Our scripture focus comes from Acts 2:42-47 and Ephesians 4:1-6, 11-13—two powerful reminders of what it looks like when the Body of Christ comes together in unity, purpose, and love.
In Acts 2, we see the early church devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. They worshiped together, cared for one another, and served their community—and “the Lord added daily to the community those who were being saved.” In Ephesians 4, Paul calls the church to live worthy of the calling they’ve received—walking in humility, gentleness, and patience—striving for unity in the Spirit.
This Sunday, we get to live out that calling as a church family. We’ll gather for one combined worship service together at 10 am in the New Room, followed by lunch together in the gym, and then head out to serve together in our community. We’ll end the day at our Church Picnic at the Botanical Gardens—a time to relax, laugh, and simply enjoy being together.
This day is designed to remind us of four important truths about Christian togetherness:
- Motivation and Support:
There is power in being together. Our unity motivates us to keep going, supports us when life gets hard, and helps us grow spiritually. When we gather, worship, and serve side by side, we are strengthened for the journey ahead. - Shared Purpose:
We are not meant to walk this road alone. Together, we discover a shared purpose and destiny—loving God, loving others, and making Christ known. Unity keeps our eyes on what truly matters. - Spiritual Growth:
Gathering together as a church family—whether in worship, around the table, or out in service—forms us spiritually. It aligns our hearts with God’s will and reminds us we belong to something bigger than ourselves. - Love and Service:
Christian togetherness means living, working, praying, and serving with one another. There is joy in this shared life—a joy that multiplies when we choose love, hospitality, and service.
As we prepare for Sunday, I invite you to reflect on these questions:
- Where do you experience the deepest sense of belonging in our church community?
- How has serving alongside others shaped your faith?
- What does it mean for you to live “worthy of the calling” as Paul describes?
I look forward to worshiping, serving, and gathering together with you this Sunday. May our time together remind us of the gift it is to be Trinity Together—one body, united in Spirit, bound by love.
Blessings,
Pastor Carrie
