I am excited to announce our next sermon series entitled “What We Value.” In this 7-week series beginning August 27th at 9 am Traditional and 11 am Cross Connect, we will journey into the heart of Trinity United Methodist Church to reflect on our core values of love, support, service, value differences, rest, and excellence. Together, we will discern how to live out these values authentically and passionately as we seek to fulfill God’s vision for our church.
This Sunday, we will lay a foundation and discuss the importance of values as a moral compass that guides the Christian life. Our values shape our attitudes, decisions, and interactions with others, reflecting the teachings of Christ in our daily walk. We will examine Matthew 5:13-16 (CEB), a passage from the Sermon on the Mount, in which Jesus uses the metaphors of salt and light to emphasize the importance of living out one’s faith and being a positive influence in the world. As a secondary text, we will also focus on Romans 12:1-2, which highlights the importance of a devoted and renewed life, distinct from the ways of the world.
My prayer is that through this series, we will be inspired to continue to put our Trinity Values into action to grow closer to God, one another, and our Huntsville community.
See you (and a guest or two) in worship on Sunday!
