Dear Trinity Family & Friends,
This Sunday, we continue our Lenten sermon series, “What Are You Afraid Of?” and focus on “Individualism” based on Philippians 2:1-11 (CEB) and Micah 6:6-8 (CEB).
In his letter to the Philippians, Paul calls us to model our lives after Jesus, who “emptied himself” and took on the form of a servant. Jesus demonstrates that true greatness comes through humility and selflessness. In a culture that often prioritizes self-interest and independence, this message challenges us to let go of the fear that we must rely solely on ourselves and invites us into the joy of shared purpose and community.
This week, our spiritual practice is sacrifice. Sacrifice is an act of love that shifts our focus from ourselves to others. It mirrors the life of Christ, who gave everything so that we might live. Whether it’s giving of our time, resources, or energy, practicing sacrifice helps us grow in humility and live out God’s call to do justice, love faithfully, and walk humbly with him.
As we prepare for this week’s sermon, I invite you to reflect on these questions:
Let’s ask God to help us embrace sacrifice—not as a burden, but as a gift that allows us to live more fully into his love and purpose. I am grateful to journey through this season with you, and I pray that our sacrifices will bring us closer to Christ and to one another.
See you Sunday!
