February is thought of as the month of love. In the Old King James Version of the Bible the word love is mentioned 310 times. In the New American Standard Version, the word love is mentioned 348 times. In the New International Version, the word love is mentioned 551 times. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a says Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. To me this says, as Christ disciples He wants us to be understanding, generous, kind, compatible, happy, forgiving and rejoicing with truth as we show love. Think of how many times we invite or go out to eat with friends and family and how we are showing our love through preparing the food or buying the food. We have many single people, families and homeless people that get food from the two pantries that we supply. We can also show love to these people when we make our food purchases.
