Dear Trinity Family & Friends:
As All Saints Sunday approaches, we find ourselves in a moment of deep reflection. It is a time to honor the saints who have gone before us, their sacrifices, and the spiritual heritage they have passed down. Alongside this moment of remembering the saints above, I will be preaching a sermon in our stewardship series entitled “Giving as Worship” based on Mark 12:41-44 (CEB). This familiar story describes a widow whose financial gift to the temple was not about its monetary value but its heart-driven generosity—a testament to faith that speaks volumes. This same type of generosity is echoed in 2 Corinthians 8:1-6 (CEB), where the Macedonian churches, despite their challenges, overflowed with joyful generosity, giving even beyond their means.
Why did they give so selflessly? How can our own acts of giving be transformed from mere obligations to profound acts of worship? In remembering the saints and their unwavering devotion, we will discover how our offerings can become powerful expressions of our love and commitment to God.
Join us this Sunday as we explore the depth of giving, its ties to worship, and its role in the legacy we leave for generations to come.
Blessings,
Pastor Dedric
P.S. - Take a moment to explore information on our stewardship campaign and prayerfully examine our 2024 Estimate of Giving Commitment Card online at
www.trinityhsv.org/giftofgiving. On Sunday, November 12th in both worship services, I would like to invite each of you to join me in coming forward and laying your commitment card on the altar. This act, which we do in prayer, is more than a pledge; it is a testament to our faith, our trust in God’s provision, and our shared vision for Trinity United Methodist Church.
