Dear Trinity Family & Friends,
As we approach the conclusion of our stewardship sermon series, “The Gift of Giving,” I am filled with gratitude for the journey we have undertaken together. This week, we will finish with a sermon entitled “The Impact of Our Giving,” which aims to capture the essence of all we have learned and celebrate what God is doing through the generosity of the people of God called Trinity United Methodist Church.
Our guiding scripture for this sermon is Acts 20:35 (CEB), a beautiful reminder that, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” These words encompass the spirit of true generosity. We will also read Luke 6:27-38 (CEB), where Jesus encourages us to give without expecting anything in return and promises that our measure of generosity will determine the measure of our blessings.
Giving is not merely about monetary offerings; it is about the heart, intention, and spirit with which we give. As we reflect on our personal and collective journeys, I want us to meditate upon the deep, lasting impact of our giving – not just on our church, but on our hearts and our relationship with God.
A significant part of our worship services this Sunday will be a collective act of faith and commitment. At the conclusion of both worship services – 9:00 a.m. Traditional and 11:00 a.m. Cross Connect, I will invite each of you to join me in coming forward and laying your 2024 Estimate of Giving Commitment Card on the altar. This act, which we do in prayer, is more than a pledge; it is a testament to our faith, our trust in God’s provision, and our shared vision for Trinity United Methodist Church.
These cards signify our united pledge to the 2024 budget, ensuring the continued growth of our ministries. Additionally, we will also have an opportunity to pledge toward our Building Restoration Project, a testament to our dedication to secure, strengthen, and expand Trinity’s Home for current and future generations.
I am looking forward to seeing each of you this Sunday, as we come together, both in spirit and in commitment. Thank you for the ways you support Trinity United Methodist Church as we seek to invite all to gather in love, grow in faith, and give back in joyful service.
Blessings,
Pastor Dedric
